  2. This creates a lot of fear for many people becuase people these days are taking women from other countries and putting them in danger everyday. If we would not have had globalization none of this would have probaly happened. Its also creating a lot fear for the women because they are being set up and the people are really only lying to them to get them to a different country to sell them and us them as slaves.

  3. globalization creates fear because of like it said in this article...people are afraid that they will be sold and practicly be a slave. One of the challenges of globalization is that you can not communicate with whomever you want when ever you want if you don't have the stuff to be an active part of the global society. The lady in the article wanted to talk to her kids back home but was not given the technology too.

  4. Fear is created because these women are taken to different countries to enter the "workforce". The women's idea of a "workforce" is working in a store or running a business when in reality, they are being sold as prostitutes and are being raped and lied to. Globalization impacted this because without it, the traffickers would have no way to contact eachother and transport the girls from one place to another.

  5. There is fear among the people who are accepting the jobs because they never know whether or not the job they said they are getting is really that job or not.

  6. Fear is created because these slaves are taken from there countries and put in random countries to "work". I dont think that being sold for sex or working for owners who beat you would really fall under the catergory of work though. A benefit of this would be that our products are then cheaper. Globalization impacted Human Trafficking In the U.S. becuase without globalization there would be no communication or even people to think about coming up with this idea.

  7. There is fear among the people who are getting the new job. like the lady form Africa she didn't know what she was goining into. She didn't know that she was going to practilly become a slave in the USA. She thought that she was going to get a good job but it didn't turn out good for her. Alex Pott

  8. A challenge is that since we have a globalized society that we dont know if the people are illegal or not because they're not supposed to have any contact with the outside world so seeing a african america lady cleaning a home is a norm.

    1,
I think that fear is created with an ad for bording school in the US can accually be we are going to use you as a slave for years and years to come.
It can be freedom for you getting set free after a certain amount of time and freedom jus feels sweeter than it did those years before when you were forsed to work for a family in the US.

  10. It creates fear because these people never know if they will be a victim of human trafficing. There is also a challenge because it is hard to identitfy the victims of this. You can be a conscious part and try to look for these victims around you.

  11. globalization creates fear because these people are taken from there countries and they didn't know they were being taken. people now have to be more cautious and watch out for the people around them because they never know whos going to try to take them for slaves and they can't take just any job because they might get captured and not get payed. It creates freedom because we can get our products for cheeper than they would be if slaves weren't used. It would also create freedom for the people taking the slaves because they basically get worker and they don't have to pay them anything if they don't want to.

  12. 1.)It can create fear becasue people taking jobs in other countries don't know if they will actually receive what they are promised. It can create freedom because if they do receive what they promised they will have an education or money to help them.
2.) The benifits are that they can travel to other places for work, but the challenges are that they don't know if they will actually recive what they were promised.
3.) You can help resolve the problem by not joing in and taking someone as a slave and if you think that someone is doing that, that you do something about it so it is stopped.
4.) Technoloy is how they can communicate to the people in outher countries to come over here and work for people as slaves.

  13. #1- Fear is created because the lady in the article didn't want to leave her children but did it for the sake of her kids. When what she thought would happen didn't, fear was caused because she didn't know what to expect for her chilren. Freedom is created because her kids had the chance of going to boarding school and they never would have without her opportunity.
#2- Some benefits of globalization is that her children get things from the fact that her previous boss knows people in the US (boarding school). A challenge is she doesn't get to see her kids and she is all alone in America (refused to talk to anyone).
#3- An individual can be and active participant by trying to recognize (like the article states) when a trafficker is present and when a situation looks like human trafficking is taking place.
#4- Tecnology plays a role in increasing our global society by helping the lady visit her daughters, even if it wasn't possible for her to really be there (skype maybe??).

  15. fear is created because others now have to be more careful about whare and what they are agreeing to do when it comes to them being shipped to other countrys to work. Benefits are that the people who bought the slaves have cheep labor.Technology has a role in this to because how would they communicate with the buyers of these slaves.Challenges are that now the u.s goverment needs to now work harder to stop human traficing.

  16. There is fear amoung people because the women are being forced to work that they dont want to. Freedom is shown in the ariticle by when they daid they nee dto worko on what to look for when it comes to human trafficing and they said they would work on it thorugh learning through law enforcement.
Benfits are that some people get saved and they ended up not going through the pain and also getting to see their families again! Some challanges are that they cna save everyone from this disaster of being forced to work for someone else.
People can be an active conscious by joinging those pepople who are trying to stop human trafficing. With the law enforcement stuff. Get more people to join, the better off we are.
Tecnolegy plays a role in this by letting us learning what to look for to helo people escape adn another way tecnolegy is a good way is by seeing people being abused when their work is not done good enough and they get beaten and wnat to put a stop to all this!

  17. 1. There is fear that the women that the girl worked for was nice and they were actually kinda like friends and then she brain washes her to going to america to work in more harsh conditions. but a freedom is that we as in the people controlling the slave get off easy and don't have to take care of kids and you don't have to pay the nanny.
    2. challenges are to work for the people and do alot of hard labour and to get nothing like money or something is just wrong. but a benefit is also for the people that own the slave get to have someone do a job for them and they don't need to pay them.
    3. to be an active person to the global issue is you can help or try to help people stuck in slavery.

  18. there is fear in the slaves lives because they are threatened that if they dont do what they are supposed to do, their owners will do somthing to there familys. the owners have freedom to do what ever they want with them. They owners have a benefit for free work and challenges is when the slaves want to escape they can barly speak english and there not even aloud to leave the HOUZE.

  19. fear is created by the people(her) being taken to a different county to work and people taking advantage of them(her), when all they want is a better life for them and their family. With out globalization mosts of these cases of slavery wouldnt be happening, globalization helps the people transport the slaves(her) to different spots all over the globe like america, which in this case is a benift to all the slave owners. You can be an active memember by simpley standing up and helping some one in need.

  20. Globalization creates fear among people who are sent to other countries with high hopes of education and a new life, but instead are sent into slavery.
Slavery also creates a challenge for sent into slavery because they are taken away from there families, with no form of communication provided. Slavery creates a freedom to many Americans though, because we are able to recieve a variety of products for a small price.

  21. It creates fear in the fact that kids in africa can't even go outside without their parents watching them so that they do not get kiddnapped. It creates freedom because you can choose what food you want to eat that has been made or grown in places far away.
A benefit is being able to eat whatever you want that could be from a long ways away. A challenge is that a lot of jobs in the united states get outsourced to countries with cheaper labor costs, and therefore we lose jobs and sstuggle to provide for our familys.
You can be an active member by participating in the riots towards slavery and things similar to that. Also you can like pages on facebook that will donate a specific type of food or water to a struggling area.
Technology is a huge part in increasing connectivity because it makes being globaly connected much much easier.

  22. I think its amazing that 4000-5000 kids are working as slaves in just the carpet industry. Imagine if you were taken away from your family when you were six years old and forced to work. Thats what creates fear, the parents have to worry about their childeren being kidnapped even if they just walk out of the house.

  24. This causes fear because these women are tricked into thinking they are coming to America to work and make good money. I still can't believe people in the United States are so selfish. They should either pay these women or do it themselves.

  25. #2.what are the benefits and challenges of a global society?
In relation to this article, Some challenges of human trafficing are, people are taken and are served as slaves and sometimes beaten and taken away from their home and brought to different places all over the world. Benifits only go to the plantation owners and the people reciving the services that the slaves are being labored for.

  26. This can created fear for the women that went to america so her kids go to bording school but then they gave her little to no money way less than she did before and shes scared she might lose her kids because of it. but she works as hard as she can by cleaning cooking and gardening working 100+ hourse a week. on the other hand in the other situation it can create freedom for those going through this because most if not all women who have gone through it have created a succesful life.

  27. The benifits of a global community are we are able to have a alot of things that we wouldnt be able to have if globalization didnt occur. Challenges are things like human traficking. People misuse the good things they get and hopefully many of them can be coaught some day

  31. 1. Because of the freedom globalization grants us, there is also an equal amount of oppression caused by it. Think about it, you can recieve all of these neat products from other countries and such, but in countries with inflating currency, they're forced to "hire" cheaper workers. The more you buy from them, the more work the slaves have to do. Nice for you, not so much for them.

    2. Globalization has its pros and cons. Think about the cocoa factory; the plus side is that you can recieve products you're unable to make yourself, but at the same time, a down side is that to make that cocoa, they have a secret ingredient that they'll never tell you about: Blood, sweat, tears. Dosen't say that on the wrapper... The thing is, with all the benefeits of globalization, there's an equal and opposite disadvantage. Sound familiar?

    3. To really be a good global participant, one has to know about the topic of which they talk about, simply put. Ingnorance is NOT bliss.

    4. As technology evolves, we can talk more, ship more, make more, etc.,but that also means that we need more people to talk, to ship, to make stuff. As technology advances to meet our needs, we press the people who work them just as hard. Starting to see a theme here? It's an intricate equalibrium, the world is. Think of it as a two-sided scale, up indicating disadvantage and down indicating advantage. Now place a weight on one of the pans, the advantage it now gets corresponds to an equal disadvantage on the other pan. The world is the same way, just with many, many pans. Deep stuff, huh?
