  1. I can't believe people are mean enough to do these things to other people, and children. It's just not fair, what gives the people the power for them to do this to others?

  2. I agree with alexis. they really have no right to do it.

  6. Ryan Swaw,
Its a weird feeling knowing that some of your stuff is made by slaves.

    ReplyDelete
  7. yes, they said *get more money*

    ReplyDelete
  8. Add onto Tanners comment and the anonmous comment: But they want more more or they think they need more They think they dont have work to earn it yet they make otheres do it and abuse them. I dont get how some people can just abuse them.

  9. I think that they should find a different source then slaves, I don't understand why they would capture children for slaves before they would adults. Adults would be more skilled and would have better work. Also, childeren and parents shouldn't be afreaid of getting kidnapped to be a slave to someone they should of feeling of saftey in their own house.
    -Alexis Miller

  10. the owners of the slaves and plantations are really dumb because they dont care that cameras are on there land documenting the slaves saying that they are there illegaly and are givin no money and when the slaves ask for money they get beat
    Tanner Grassman

    ReplyDelete
  11. Why do the kids keep on putting up with no money? Is it because the master will beat them or what?

    Jared

  12. they lefted their country for nothing

  13. For rachels comment some sick people enjoy abusing and tortureing people.

  14. People are just taking advantage of the others who need the money.

  15. To Alexis's comment... they capture kids before adults because its easier. The kids dont really know whats going on at that young of an age. I agree though that they should be able to feel safe in their own house.

    -Dani Dobinski

  16. Jared, they put up with getting no money because they don't have a choice, if they ask they will just get beaten it's so unfair they should be paid for their hardwork and yet they don't.
    -Alexis Miller

  21. To Alexis Comment.... Kids will be able to work longer than adults because their younger and and dani's rihgt. Kids dont knoe whats going on so its easer to tke the kids
    Rachel

    ReplyDelete
  22. Dani's comment I guess I can see why they would take children but the children wouldn't do as good of work, is it really worth kidnapping them and beating them if you set to high of an excpectation for what they have to do and they are uncappable of doing that amount of work at souch a young age? (sorry if that doen't make sence)
    -Alexis Miller

  23. some of those kids are only like 7 years old!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is soooo bad:(... that they have to live life so worried all the time. somee tough kids..... i couldnt imagine being in such a bad environment at my age. while we are at school, those kids are being beaten and worked to death.

    ReplyDelete
  24. what makes you say kids wouldn't do better work, first all they're doing is picking stuff off trees and the earlier they start working the better they get after a period of time.

    alex g

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ryan Swaw,
If that is where he lives it looks kindof beaten for a person you would think is really rich.

    ReplyDelete
  26. To the anonymous comment, I completely agree, I can't beleive the enviroment they live in, they have to work so hard for being so young, I don't think I would be able to handle everything those children do.
    -Alexis Miller

    ReplyDelete
  27. To Alexis, if the children are kidnapped and have to start working at such a young age, they will be able to work harder as they get older.
    Emily

    ReplyDelete
  28. ^^sounds like youre with this slave thing, alex....?!

    ReplyDelete
  29. TO alexis comment.. They work them hard to the things they want done as they want them to be done and if they dont do it good enough then they get a beating. Its not fair. Especial at a such a yonger age kids might not understand yet they stil get beating.
    Rachel

    ReplyDelete
  30. you can teach the kids more things because they are young and still learning so then when they are older they can do the work better so it makes more sence to take the kids then the adults
    Avreal

    ReplyDelete
  31. People are just so greedy. What if that was them? They would want their money, and I'm sure they wouldn't like how they are being treated.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Rachel
    I agree with Avreal

    ReplyDelete
  33. it kinda makes you feel better when you know that there only there till they are 20 because then they have the rest of their lives to live.
    Tanner Grassman

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't think kids would do as good of work, because they are younger, and I wouldn't think they would have the motivation, paitience, or attention span to do that all day and stay on task. I would thing they would get distracted or start becoming lazy and not work as fast or as hard. But, there were some really good points on why they would do matter as well, I guess I would rather have adults be slaves then children because they should be able to enjoy their childhood not spend it working all day.
    -Alexis Miller

    ReplyDelete
  35. Alexis: So if they get off task or distractes, wpuldnt they just get abused?

    ReplyDelete
  36. To tanner: I agree with what you're saying...it is reassuring to hear that they will be released at some time. But, they will forever live with the memory of their childhood and the scars left on their body. Sure, its happy to think that, but it doesn't take away the fact that they were treated so poorly as a child.

  38. it sux to know that this is happening in the U.S and even people that work for the govenment have slaves. arnt they supposed to be the people that are trying to rescue people from slavery.

  39. How many of you know where you chocolate comes from? It is very likely that much of your chocolate comes with cocoa produced using slave labor. Thoughts?

    Mr. H

    ReplyDelete
  40. It is horrable that in the US there is still slavary I thought we were above that.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Rachel
Sydnie, thats a great point and i think thats as bad as being in the abusive plantaion and so Tanner acually has a point to.

    ReplyDelete
  42. this video and mr. h's comment made chocolate taste a lot less 'sweet'.
    SYDNIE

    ReplyDelete
  43. Slavery exists everywhere because of globalization. The cost of your goods is cheaper because of slavery...is it worth it?

    Mr. H

    ReplyDelete
  44. Im gunna feel bad the next time I eat chocolate... lunch.

    ReplyDelete

    TESS

  47. I will still eat chocolate. I really dont care where it came from!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ryan Swaw,
It is very weird how that people can go so long with out knowing that slaves are in america.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I don't know where chocolate comes from I know that it's in less wealthy countries or countries that do use slave. I guess that it's kind of sad to think that someone went through a lot of pain and work to get that chocolate that you get to enjoy and that you probabally don't even think twice about how its made or how and who made it.
    -Alexis Miller

    ReplyDelete
  50. Slavery is worth it for consumers but not worth it for the people but if it makes stuff cheaper I dont care.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Right i totally agree with Sydnie it sux that they have to live with the momories and scars from the plantations. but in another sence they will be released young enough that they can still have children and be able to share the enjoyment of being a child by being able to whatch their child grow up.
    Tanner Grassman

    ReplyDelete
  52. Is it worth? Right now with beating these innocent people get iw ould not!! If they didnt get a beating then MMMMMMAAAAYYYYYBBBBBEEEE, i would consider it weather or not if its worth it!

    ReplyDelete
  53. the people that said it was worth it, how would you feel if you were the slaves getting beaten and not getting any pay?

    ReplyDelete
  54. verryy good point tanner. and to whoever made the comment "idc where chocolate comes from...." are you watching this video!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! these people are being treated like dirt!! at least have some type of emotion towards it...even if chocolate is delicious.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't think its worth having cheaper goods if so many people are being slaves to make them for us. We have to think of everyone and know that we are equal. I think that the world could still work if we paid the slaves and that the price of goods went up. You can't just think of yourself and how you want the cheap goods!
    -Alexis Miller

    ReplyDelete
  56. For Mr.H's comment i personally think its not worth it because people shouldnt have to work hard and get beaten just so products can be made cheaper
    Tanner Grassman

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ryan Swaw,
for mr.helings comment I do not think it is worth it. just because somthing is cheaper does not mean you can have slaves and torture a human being.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I am getting paid though so I dont care.

    ReplyDelete
  59. 4000-5000...that's alot of kids being taken..

  60. The fact that slavery is still going on today is sad. Exspecially after we learned about it and how bad it was for so many years. I dont understand how the people who do this can just be okay with it. Yeah theyre making money but theyre ruining lives and donte even care.
    Jackie.

  62. I think that's kinda freaky to think that the food or clothes or anything today could of been made by slaves. Its sad and frightening that they are just taken against their will and some people haven't seen their kids in years.
    Alyssa.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think it's terrible that the kids have to live in fear that they are going to be captured and taken away from their family to be abused just for other peoples selfishness.
    Kailey

    ReplyDelete
  64. Abby S:D

this is so terrible! people should not use and take children to do work. it is not right at all. With Mr. Helings comment it makes me think about chocolate and it will most likley make me feel gross next time i eat or see a chocolate bar or anything that could be possibly made by slaves. Having slaves is just wrong whether they are able to pay them or not.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I think its amazing that 4000-5000 kids are working as slaves in just the carpet industry. Imagine if you were taken away from your family when you were six years old and forced to work. Thats what creates fear, the parents have to worry about their childeren being kidnapped even if they just walk out of the house.
    -Tyler Merckx>:'(

  66. I find it very weird and slightly disturbing that the clothes we wear and other things we buy somehow along the line could have been made by a slave.

  67. how can some people be so mean that they don't even pay these young hardworking boys that are trying to help support their familys instead hes gotta be a jerk and not pay them.

  70. I can't belive that we just see halloween as a happy day in which we give out chocolate made by our american companies like Hershey's but chances are that we just are handing out little pieces of slavery and forigen violence.

  71. that is just sad. he cant even lok for his own son. i love choclate, not how its made.

    ReplyDelete
  72. its nice that when they run away and are found by this group that they can go back to there parents and reunite with them

    Austin

    ReplyDelete
  73. It's sad to think that even though people know where these children are ending up they can do nothing about it. The economy in these countries is so low, and people are so poor that they cant afford to look for these lost children. As a parent it must be hard to accept that you can do nothing to save your child after they've been taken.
    -Hanna

  74. ive had an idea of slavery happening still, but i never knew it was this bad. those marks the people have from being whipped is terrible...slavery needs to be stopped once and for all.

  89. It's sad on how people can treat others like this. Yeah, thier different, but that doesnt mean you have the right to take thier freedom away. All the plantation owners care about is the money. I can't believe how greedy people are.
