Why would Dave accept going to live in a place where he can't practice his own religion? If he's a practicing christainity, then why would he go to practice a religion he didnt agree with?
I personally would be curious about the other religion. It wouldnt matter to me if I was relgious or not.
I do not believe I have ever seen a Muslim in the Kimberly area. It would be interesting to dress up as one and see how people would respond to it Ethan Van Thiel
I think it's dumb that they chose Dave to go and do this. He already said he won't pray with them. They will most likely be offended and he isn't getting the whole feel if he doesn't pray with them
I find it interesting that there was a lot of sterotypes about them and when they asked what came to their mind when they heard certain words they were or mostly negative like ours.
He has to follow some strict rules. He is going against all that he is; faith, and he has to be away from his family, his new son. How he was treated in the air-ports were terrible. He was so clueless about the desent about the head scarf about most things. He seem very about of place. - Irish R.
You all say you think it's bad how they thought bad things when you thought the same things when we wrote that stuff on the board. Also, you wrote and put the same stuff they said.
I think its not good that many americans are very stereotypical twords muslims and dont actually know what they are like. I wonder if they have stereotypes about christians.
their cereal looks pretty nice, but other than that the islam religion looks pretty interesting. their rule about the man and a woman in the same room thing sounds pretty extreme, seeing that satan would be the third!!! i pressume he will have an issue with fasting. -leah
i honestly didnt expect them to because of how much of a fetoose sadam is, honestly. he's a horrible man and the people in his country are absolutely POWERLESS to him. -leah
I would be very uncomfortable in his position, living for 30 days as something I'm not and folling/praising things I don't believe in. That takes a lot of courage.
Dave really overreacts about things. They speak in a different language and he has a panic attack. I think he should be a bit more respectful, I mean I know it's probably a very hard transition but he didn't have to do it.
I wonder why, since so much of the city practices islam, they dont build a legit mosque for the town instead of having to use old buildings like they are. Jessica
I think it really shows how stuck up christians are by how open the Muslims are by saying that all three religions are the same and we share a god. And Christians are all saying how terrible and dumb the Muslim religion is.
woah woah you can't generalize people who believe in a religion. this man is not stuck up, he's actually interested in the religion and that's why he accepted this challenge. you are just as bad as you say they are when you talk like that. not all christians are bad and their religion 90% of the time has nothing to do with their attitudes. if anything blame the parenting or whatever. -leah :)
He says how he is not comfortable with praying alot, but I think he shold give it a try because he came there to experience new things and learn about their culture and its hard for him to understand if he wont do the things he needs to do to understand it. Lauren Cuomo
I agree this guy is like peeing his pants over having to just chill in a room and listen to an interesting religion. He keeps saying how much he wants to learn too, which he doesnt if he doesnt wanna pray.
I know. He needs to stop being a man-baby, suck it up and learn some diversity and learn about some new religion and ways. This would be good for him. -Irish R.
Being a Christian person who goes to church every sunday, I have never heard anyone say that the Christian God and the Muslim god are the same. Ethan Van Thiel
He is far too close-minded to be attempting this. You have to open your mind when entering an enitrely new lifestyle, even if you have these stereotypes. - Christian
Showing the bottom of feet and showing the bottom of your shoes is very disresectful and also if you have pets you must put them in a room untill your guest leave, otherwise they get offended and scared. -Irish R.
Stop bashing on Dave I bet it is harder then it looks. I wouldn't like being in his situation either. I would feel uncomfortable and miss my family too.
He seems to really miss his family. I think it would be hard to leave your family and practice a different religion for 30 days. But then again, I wouldn't do it.
My mom wants to send me to Bazil this summer where I wouldnt know a single person and I'd be going to there school and everything. That would be for about a month if not longer and I would not be able to communicate with anyone at home at all. He can still talk to his family.
I think that he doesnt actually miss his family that much and is that stressed. I believe that its just the producers trying to make the show more exciting.
omg true dat. This is so accurate. They found the perfect kind of guy that would refuse to pray to a different religion, and have a panic attack. #producersareperf
I think he actually misses his family. If you were alone for that long trying to learn something new you could be stressed and miss your family back home.
Even if you could do what he is doing much better, some people might not think religion is as important as he does. and it would be more easy for them. i think he doing a good job sense his religion is so important to him. Klaire
I give him a lot of credit for just learning and trying this new religion. I can understand why he isn't doing everything because it would be a hard adjustment. Hana
This guy is lucky he isnt getting punched in the face, thats what I would do if he came to my dinner table and started talking about my religion and terrorist attacks.
I completely agree the people who had nothing to do with the attack should not have to apologize, they did nothing wrong, people need to realize that the word muslim does not translate to terrorist in any language.
In the end it seemed like he was more understanding of everything and i thought it was a great idea to share his new knowledge with people! -Angela Douglas
I find Islam interesting
ReplyDeleteWhy would Dave accept going to live in a place where he can't practice his own religion? If he's a practicing christainity, then why would he go to practice a religion he didnt agree with?
ReplyDeleteI personally would be curious about the other religion. It wouldnt matter to me if I was relgious or not.
-Aubrey
I agree, if he so strongly believes in christianty why would he do this? He almost sounds againt Islam so this could be interesting.
DeleteZack
I agree I think it's dumb to choose him for the show
DeleteA lot of stereotypes.
ReplyDeleteLike tha ak47 men.
DeleteRight I believe that many of them are unfair
DeleteI think of the same things that the other people thought
ReplyDeleteI think it is really bad how americans only think bad things about religons like islam.
ReplyDeleteThose bad thoughts were caused by 9/11
DeleteI do not believe I have ever seen a Muslim in the Kimberly area. It would be interesting to dress up as one and see how people would respond to it
ReplyDeleteEthan Van Thiel
I've seen a couple actually, and there is one in our school. When I lived in Rochester, MN, people didnt react poorly to the muslims at all.
Delete- Aubrey
Huh. Interesting. Ill have to pay attention more...
DeletePeople are really judgmental
ReplyDeleteI would not want to wake up at 5:30 to do a prayer
ReplyDeletePeter
I agree entirely. 5:30 is not okay.
DeleteI get up at 5:30 on weekdays. It's not that bad.
DeleteWouldn't it be hard practicing a religion that you don't believe in? I don't understand why you would do that.
ReplyDeleteI think it's dumb that they chose Dave to go and do this. He already said he won't pray with them. They will most likely be offended and he isn't getting the whole feel if he doesn't pray with them
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that there was a lot of sterotypes about them and when they asked what came to their mind when they heard certain words they were or mostly negative like ours.
ReplyDelete-Klaire(:
That would take a lot of work to just go somewere and practice other people's religon!
ReplyDelete-Angela Douglas
very aquard
ReplyDeleteAwkward
DeleteI dont see why Dave would say he would go and practice another religion if he isnt willing to do all of the things they do.
ReplyDelete-Kayla.
I think it was interesting how he went out to the airport wearing those clothes and seeing how people reacted.

Yeah, I could see Dave having a problem about fasting.

ReplyDeleteI think it's pointless that he said say yes to this if he won't pray with them.

Amen sister.
Deleteyeah i think the was he's approaching them about it is kind of disrespectful. we have to understand how difficult this all must be for him.
Deletepeoplemay not realizethat the islam culture is actualy not soo very diferent beside culture.
ReplyDeleteThat was cool how people in the middle east also don't like sadam.
ReplyDelete-Angela Douglas
i honestly didnt expect them to because of how much of a fetoose sadam is, honestly.
Deletehe's a horrible man and the people in his country are absolutely POWERLESS to him.

I agree Sadam needed to be chokeslammed for killing all those people for no reason.
DeleteI would be very uncomfortable in his position, living for 30 days as something I'm not and folling/praising things I don't believe in. That takes a lot of courage.
